blessing in disguise

Last night I was talking to a friend and I learned this expression that I didn't know about: "blessing in disguise." Like always, as we talk, he uses these English words and idioms, and I really like it. Most of the time, it goes straight to my long-term memory because the way he uses them is magnificent.

We were  chatting about all sorts of things, jumping from one topic to another like we always do. I started telling him a story about something that seemed bad at first but turned out to be great in the end. That's when he dropped "blessing in disguise." I had to pause and ask him what it meant. He explained it so well, and it just clicked.

Honestly, our conversations are like this treasure trove of new phrases and expressions for me. It's like I'm learning English in the most fun way possible. Every time he uses a new idiom, it feels like a little gift. And the best part is, he explains them in such a clear and interesting way that I can’t help but remember them.

So now, “blessing in disguise” is stuck in my head. I’m definitely going to try and use it in our next conversation. It’s amazing how a simple chat with a friend can turn into an unexpected language lesson.
